Bhakti Rock!

I created this CD to celebrate my years of chanting at Kripalu Ashram. The highlight of each day of my ten-year stay we held a kirtan, 90 minutes of celebration and true bliss. I came to love chanting and the Vedic culture and it’s spiritual roots.

Chanting the sacred mantras, also known as Bhakti Yoga, is the most powerful form of Yoga in the current Kali Yuga, or Age of Darkness. Anyone can experience the power of connecting with the God within using this powerful technique. I invite you to join in as you listen to these sacred chants and allow your consciousness to soar in the heart of the Lord.

Some of the chants are traditional, some are of Swami Kripaluvanandaji, and others are my own creation. I meant for this CD to be played loud, to be danced to, to celebrate our God connection with our entire bodies. Chanting is much more powerful when we dance. Dancing is moving with God. Swami Kripalu used to tell us that “Success is always rolling about the feet of a dancer.” He was the main inspiration for my spiritual progress in this lifetime. I dedicate this CD to him, the one true yogi and devotee of God I have had the good fortune to meet and know. He is a shining example of love and truth and devotion to God.

Swami Kripaluvanandaji

My intention is that you enjoy this music as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Below are descriptions and samples of each song. When you order a song, you will receive the link where you can download it.

Sri Ram $1.49

Ram is the best. The word Ram opens the heart Chakra. Ram is king of the heart. Let him open your heart. And remember to dance.

Shiva $1.49

This is another Shiva Chant but with a very pop sounding and danceable beat. Shiva is often called The Lord of the Dance. So, lets get down and boogie with him!

Sita Ram $1.49

Ram was the incarnation of Vishnu in the Treta Yuga, the one before Krishna. His life was a story of saving his kidnapped wife, Sita. They are one of the most beautiful celestial couples and their names are often chanted together as the embodiment of male and female divine energies.. This is a Sita Ram chant with a rock n roll kick! Crank it up!

Gayatri $1.49

One of the oldest and most powerful mantras known. Feel the power of this mantra and its effects on your consciousness as you listen or join in.

Om Namah Shivaya $1.49

This chant reminds me of the battlefield of Kurukshetra, the place where Krishna lead Arjuna to the ultimate destruction of over 3 million men. This is a warrior chant. Shiva is the Destroyer, the Purifier. This is a chant about purification of the soul. When you chant this chant, think about Lord Shiva burning away all your impurities in his divine fire of destruction.

Krishna Lullabye $1.49

Krishna could be sweet and loving, as well as fierce and destructive. This chant is devotional and gentle.

Krishna Hare Krishna $1.49

Krishna was the most recent incarnation of Vishnu, who is one of the three most powerful of the Hindu Gods. Vishnu is the sustainer of all that is good. And Krishna is one of his most joyful and playful expressions. Get out of your seat and dance as you chant this chant. Traditional with a twist.

Every chanting experience begins best with an Om, the universal sound and the first and foremost of all mantras. Join in or sit back, close your eyes and experience the vibration.

Karna’s Song $1.49

Karna was a great warrior who lived during the same time as Lord Krishna. He was the greatest warrior to ever live and his life, though tragic, was majestic and beautiful. This song attempts to capture the beauty and sadness of his life, along with the sadness connected with his ultimate fate.

Closer to You $1.49

This is a personal song for me. I often get songs that simply express my love and devotion to God, along with my quest to find Him.

Krishna $1.49

I always thought Krishna was a party guy. He was always smiling, he played the flute and  he loved to dance. He exemplified the God that is loving, compassionate and fun.

Rama Rama $1.49

Taken from a chant by my guru, Yogi Amrit Desai, I hoped to embody the spiritual intensity of the kirtans we had while I lived with him.

Journey $1.49

This is an instrumental I recorded with electric guitar leads.
